Getting you out and about

Vancouver Island View

Bringing you ideas about the best ways to explore the island.

I've updated several articles that will get you out and about. The first big update is to a bucket list article written several years ago. I changed it so much that, despite the same title, it may as well be a brand-new post. I also created a downloadable PDF to accompany the article so you can always access it.

The Ultimate Vancouver Island Bucket List

This list includes my favourite spots and places everyone should see/visit at least once. How many have you been to?

Horne Lake Caves

This older article received a facelift with updated information and images. The family-friendly tour at Horne Lake is a great place to start if you've never tried caving.

Driftwood Creations Treasure Hunt

Campbell River is full of amazing driftwood sculptures created by talented artist Alex Witcombe. This older article received a refresher with updated clues on how to find the newest additions. A beach near Victoria has many more driftwood creations (a different artist). All are mentioned in the post.

New Tour!

I can't tell you how often I've been asked about the best location to spot Sea Otters. Thankfully, someone came up with a guided tour to do just that. The tour leaves Port Hardy and travels through God's Pocket MPP, another spectacular place not many get to see unless you own a boat.

Wherever you decide to roam, have a great weekend! It will be a hot one out there, so stay safe.
